NHTSA Probes Two GM SUV Engine Fires

Law360, New York (February 11, 2008, 12:00 AM ET) -- A United States government agency has launched an investigation into one type of General Motors Corp.’s sport utility vehicles, following reports of two engine fires.

On Feb. 4, the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration opened a preliminary investigation of 2007 model year Chevrolet Tahoe and GMC Yukon SUVs, after the agency’s Office of Defects Investigation received two complaints about engine compartment fires.
