GM Settles Class Action Over Engine Coolant

Law360, New York (March 26, 2008, 12:00 AM ET) -- General Motors Corp. has settled a nationwide class action brought by motorists who claimed the automaker's Dex-Cool coolant damaged the engines in their GM vehicles.

The settlement was granted preliminary approval by a Superior Court of California judge last week and was announced by lead plaintiffs' attorneys on Wednesday.

Resolving the claims of all plaintiffs except those in Missouri, the settlement will provide refunds of up to $800 to current and former owners and lessees of certain 1995 to 2004 GM models for Dex-Cool-related engine repairs....
