Cryomed Sued For Infringement, Defamation

Law360, New York (November 21, 2008, 12:00 AM ET) -- A podiatrist from Michigan has filed a lawsuit against Cryomed LLC, accusing the company of infringing a patent covering a method of treating foot and ankle pain, as well as defamation.

Dr. Lawrence M. Fallat filed his complaint Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, naming Cryomed as the sole defendant.

Fallat created a method of treating Morton's neuroma and plantar fasciitis by using a cryogenic probe to freeze tissue, and on July 31, 2007, was issued U.S. Patent Number 7,250,046,...
