Obama To Usher In Era Of Unattainable Coal Permits

Law360, New York (February 20, 2009, 12:00 AM ET) -- It has already become more difficult for companies to build coal-fired power plants, but the Obama administration is expected to make it nearly impossible soon by issuing an endangerment finding for carbon dioxide.

Such an unfavorable regulatory climate, along with the economic downturn, caused three more coal plants to be canceled during the first week of March alone, according to David Bookbinder, chief climate counsel for the Sierra Club.
