Law360, New York (May 22, 2012, 3:17 PM ET) -- HSBC North America Holdings Inc. was hit with a patent infringement suit in New York last week, joining a growing list of companies accused by Unified Messaging Solutions LLC of running websites that flout its patents for delivering and managing online messages.
In a complaint filed in New York federal court on May 15, Texas-based Unified Messaging claimed that HSBC and its subsidiaries maintained a site enabled with Web-based communication services — including their "Bank Mail" feature — that infringed four patents.
