Law360, New York (December 05, 2008, 12:00 AM ET) -- Advanced Micro Devices Inc. has settled a patent lawsuit brought by several companies, including Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. and Mitsubishi Electric Corp., over MPEG-2 technology.
MPEG LA LLC, the company that licenses numerous MPEG-2 patents for the plaintiffs, said in a statement Thursday that AMD and its subsidiary ATI had entered into a licensing agreement. As a result, the parties will ask the court to dismiss the suit in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, the statement said.
