Minn. Plaintiffs Make 1st Move For Cert. In Piping MDL

Law360, New York (January 15, 2010, 3:07 PM ET) -- Consumers in Minnesota are stepping forward and becoming the first plaintiffs to seek class certification in multidistrict litigation over Zurn Industries LLC's allegedly leaky brass crimp fittings.

On Thursday, plaintiffs urged Judge Ann D. Montgomery of the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota to certify an opt-out Minnesota class of consumers who bought Zurn’s Pex plumbing systems only to have the brass fittings crack and cause water damage in their homes and businesses.
