Judge Siphons Off Funds For Aredia Attorneys

Law360, New York (September 04, 2007, 12:00 AM ET) -- Trying to guard against attorneys being shortchanged, the magistrate judge overseeing the multidistrict litigation involving bone cancer drugs Aredia and Zometa has tentatively established a fund to ensure that the plaintiffs' counsel receive their proper dues.

On Thursday, U.S. Magistrate Judge Joe Brown entered a pretrial order creating the so-called plaintiffs' litigation fund, designed to inject some order into the often chaotic compensation process.
