Law360, New York (May 22, 2012, 5:46 PM ET) -- Feeling burned by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration's decision to delay strict labeling rules for sunscreen, New York lawmakers urged the agency Monday to reverse course and quickly end "deceptive practices" in the industry before another summer ends.
Rules forcing sunscreen makers to prove how much protection from ultraviolet A and ultraviolet B rays their lotions offer — and banning "waterproof," "sweatproof" and "sunblock" claims — were slated to go into effect June 18.
