Law360, New York (August 15, 2012, 5:57 PM ET) -- The Food and Drug Administration on Wednesday warned parents and doctors that certain children treated with codeine after surgery can stop breathing and die, after the journal Pediatrics reported three recent deaths.
The Pediatrics study, published in April, reported that over the past few years three children have died and one nearly died after being treated with post-surgery codeine in recommended doses.
