Plaintiff Drops Paxil Suit Against GlaxoSmithKline

Law360, New York (November 07, 2007, 12:00 AM ET) -- A young woman who tried to commit suicide after taking psychotropic drug Paxil has dropped a product liability suit against the drug’s manufacturer, GlaxoSmithKline.

Judge William Alsup agreed to dismiss with prejudice the claims against the pharmaceutical company on Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California and ordered the parties to bear their own legal costs.

Smithkline Beecham Corp., which does business as GlaxoSmithKline, said in April that it had settled the case with Tania Lown-Hecht and her parents.
