Law360, New York (April 18, 2008, 12:00 AM ET) -- Despite the largest beef recall in history earlier this year, the Bush administration has rejected the idea that more inspectors and technologies are needed to preserve safety methods at the nation's slaughterhouses.
Undersecretary for Food Safety Richard Raymond testified on Thursday before a U.S. House of Representatives domestic policy subcommittee that the U.S. Department of Agriculture had enough meat inspectors to do the job adequately after hiring 194 inspectors in 2007.
