Law360, New York (November 11, 2008, 12:00 AM ET) -- Last month California passed a statewide requirement that chain restaurants display nutritional information on menus and signboards, a move that could lead to more consumer lawsuits against restaurants posting inaccurate nutritional data.
The California menu labeling bill, known as SB-1420, will require fast food and chain restaurants with 20 or more outlets in California to list calorie counts on menus and signboards by 2011 and offer brochures with nutrition information in restaurants in the meantime.
