Law360, New York (February 17, 2009, 12:00 AM ET) -- A disbarred lawyer and a former Mississippi state auditor have been sentenced to two years in federal prison each for allegedly helping Richard “Dickie” Scruggs try to bribe a Mississippi state judge.
On Friday, U.S. District Judge Neal Biggers ordered ex-attorney Timothy Balducci and former auditor Steve Patterson to serve 24 months in prison in connection with the scheme to bribe Mississippi state Judge Henry Lackey.
Balducci and Patterson must surrender by noon on March 25, according to the sentencing order.
