IFC Raises $500M In US Green Bond Issue

Law360, New York (April 27, 2012, 9:59 PM ET) -- The International Finance Corp. on Friday launched its first green bond aimed at U.S. investors in a move that raised $500 million for environment-friendly investments in emerging markets.

The amount will be put in a separate account for investments that are exclusively in renewable energy, energy efficiency and other climate-friendly projects in developing countries, the IFC said, stating that the bonds are targeted at facilitating investments to climate change-related projects in such countries.
