DOT Doles Out $363M In Grants For Highway Upgrades

Law360, New York (August 02, 2012, 4:25 PM ET) -- The U.S. Department of Transportation on Thursday unveiled more than $363 million in grants awarded to state and local governments and planning organizations to kickstart highway improvement projects in all 50 states, plus the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico.

Congress authorized funding for the projects under this year's Surface Transportation Extension Act, which pulled dollars from 12 separate grant pools each earmarked for a specific type of infrastructure development involving state highways, according to the DOT.
