Mass. Gov. Signs $1.5B Transportation, Infrastructure Bill

Law360, New York (August 10, 2012, 3:33 PM ET) -- Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick on Friday signed into law legislation that infuses the state's transportation and infrastructure projects with $1.5 billion through next year, including funding for the final leg of a five-year transportation funding package inked in 2008.

A total $885 million chunk of the total pot is earmarked for road, bridge, rail and regional transit initiatives, which under the Democrat governor's leadership have become a key focal point for Massachusetts as it looks to revitalize its transit systems and economy at large.
