Stay Lifted In Insurance Spat Over Massey Mine Fire

Law360, New York (August 07, 2009) -- A federal judge has lifted a stay on a dispute between a Massey Energy Co. unit and American International Specialty Lines Insurance Co. over payment for a multimillion-dollar settlement of a wrongful death suit brought by the widows of two miners who died in a 2006 fire in one of the company's coal mines.

Judge Joseph R. Goodwin of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia ordered the litigation to restart Thursday....
