Minerva, UTStarcom Agree To Drop Cellular IP Spat

Law360, New York (August 19, 2009) -- Cell phone technology patent holder Minerva Industries Inc. has dropped yet another defendant — telecommunications supplier UTStarcom Inc. — from its suit alleging that a number of the U.S.' largest cell phone outfits have infringed a mobile entertainment and communication patent.

The parties filed a joint motion for dismissal Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, seeking to drop Minerva's claims and render UTStarcom's counterclaims moot....
