Sony, Virgin Sue 'Ellen' Show For Infringing Music

Law360, New York (September 10, 2009) -- Seventeen major record companies, including UMG Recordings Inc., Sony Music Entertainment, Capitol Records LLC, Warner Brothers Records Inc. and Virgin Records America Inc., have accused the creators, producers and distributors of “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” of illegally playing more than 1,000 sound recordings owned by the companies during a number of segments on the show.
