BIS Fines Weapons Parts Makers Over EAR Violations

Law360, New York (September 29, 2009) -- The U.S. Bureau of Industry and Security has ordered two weapons part makers, including a former subsidiary of General Electric Co., to pay civil penalties for exporting parts in violation of the Export Administration Regulations.

The BIS notified GE Homeland Protection Inc. and Electronic Cable Specialists Inc. in administrative orders Friday that it was fining them $22,000 and $27,500 after both companies exported weapons parts...
