Southern Union To Appeal $18M Mercury Case Judgment

Law360, New York (October 12, 2009) -- Southern Union Co. plans to appeal a recent judgment ordering the natural gas provider to pay $18 million in fines and community service payments as penance for illegally storing liquid mercury at a facility in Rhode Island, which allegedly led to a hazardous spill at a nearby apartment complex.
