US Suit Over Azerbaijan Oil Pact Arbitration Dropped

Law360, New York (October 20, 2009) -- A federal judge has signed off on an agreement between a Frontera Resources Corp. unit and the State Oil Co. of the Azerbaijan Republic to drop a long-running fight over a $1.24 million arbitration award in U.S. courts, in a case that prompted a U.S. federal appeals court to rethink its stance on how the due process clause applies to foreign states and their agents.
