Kerr-McGee Settles Emissions Charges For $18M

Law360, New York (May 18, 2007) -- In the first comprehensive settlement under the Clean Air Act, natural gas company Kerr-McGee Corp. has agreed to spend $18 million on pollution controls to settle charges filed by the U.S. Department of Justice.

The DOJ accused Kerr-McGee, which was acquired by Houston-based Anadarko Petroleum Corp. in June 2006, of emitting volatile organic compounds, carbon monoxide, and sulfur dioxide through eight natural gas facilities...
