Law360, New York (October 27, 2008) -- Smithfield Foods Inc. and a union have struck a deal in a lawsuit related to a bitter, long-running fight to unionize a Smithfield pork processing plant in North Carolina, paving the way for the end of the union's campaign against the company, and the beginning of possible union representation.
