Usenet Claims Dropped In File-Sharing Suit

Law360, New York (December 01, 2008) -- Asserting that they already are covered by the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, a judge has dismissed counterclaims brought by Usenet.com Inc. in a case filed by 14 recording companies — including Sony BMG Music Entertainment and Virgin Records America Inc. — over alleged copyright infringement.
