CFTC Puts Off 'Swap Dealer' Definition Vote

Law360, New York (February 21, 2012, 8:44 PM ET) -- The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission on Tuesday pushed back voting on a final rule spelling out a definition for "swap dealers" that some businesses have contended is too broad and could unnecessarily expose them to costly regulations.

Part of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act, the final rule further defining swap dealers and other entities had been on the CFTC's agenda for Thursday, but a new version of the agenda published on the regulator's website Tuesday no longer included the measure....
