Law360, New York (January 02, 2008, 12:00 AM ET) -- With a trial date looming, a judge has quashed a subpoena by the former chief executive of Berkshire Hathaway Inc.'s General Reinsurance for written communications between Berkshire leader Warren Buffett and leaders of the subsidiary.
In an order handed down Tuesday, Judge Christopher F. Droney of the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut denied former CEO Ronald Ferguson's request for communications between Buffett and General Re honchos Joseph Brandon and Frank “Tad” Montross, saying the documents were irrelevant.
