Law360, New York (December 29, 2008, 12:00 AM ET) -- Tremont Group Holdings Inc. is the latest in what is sure to be a long line of feeder funds facing lawsuits in the wake of Bernard Madoff's alleged $50 billion Ponzi scheme.
Two proposed class actions filed in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York last week allege that the hedge fund manager pushed billions of dollars in investors' cash into Madoff's investment firm, Bernard Madoff Investment Securities Inc., without performing due diligence and adhering to its fiduciary duties.
