Law360, New York (October 03, 2006, 12:00 AM ET) -- Adding to Winn-Dixie Inc.’s troubles, a former employee has slapped the bankrupt supermarket chain with a proposed class-action lawsuit accusing the company of failing to pay proper overtime wages.
On Monday, Terrence Palmer sued Winn-Dixie in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, charging the company with violating the Fair Labor Standards Act.
“This action is brought under the FLSA to recover from defendant, overtime compensation, liquidated damages, and reasonable attorneys’ fees and costs,” the complaint stated.
