Long John Silver's Wins Franchisee Contract Spat

Law360, New York (November 17, 2009, 4:01 PM ET) -- Long John Silver's Inc. has reeled in a summary judgment victory in its suit accusing a former franchisee of defaulting on his obligations under separate agreements to operate two of the seafood chain's locations in Texas.

Judge Jennifer B. Coffman of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky on Friday awarded the fast food chain more than $281,000 for its expenses related to Syed Naveed Zaidi's contract breaches and closed the case, ruling that “no genuine issues of material fact remain.”
