Chevron Off Hook For Ala. Refinery Cleanup

Law360, New York (August 31, 2010, 4:56 PM ET) -- A federal judge has ruled that Chevron USA Inc. is not liable for the cleanup of thousands of gallons of crude oil at a former refinery in Mobile, Ala.

Judge Callie V.S. Granade of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Alabama on Monday granted summary judgment to Chevron in the case, which had been filed as a citizen suit under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act by Gulf Coast Asphalt Co. LLC.
