Customers' Claims Trimmed In AT&T Cramming Suit

Law360, New York (November 09, 2010, 1:36 PM ET) -- A federal judge has trimmed several claims in a putative class action alleging AT&T Corp. added bogus charges to landline customers' telephone bills without their permission — a practice known as cramming.

Judge Carlos Murguia of the U.S. District Court for the District of Kansas issued the ruling Friday, saying that three of the four plaintiffs could not bring claims under Kansas consumer protection statutes because they are limited liability companies, not consumers as defined in the law.
