Fed Up With "Wal-Mart Way," Workers Head To Court

Law360, New York (June 01, 2007, 12:00 AM ET) -- At Wal-Mart's annual shareholders meeting in Arkansas recently, several well-meaning investors submitted proposals calling for a rethink of the retail giant's employment policies and legal strategy, in light of its growing labor litigation woes.

The investors, a group of pension funds concerned the company was ignoring federal employment laws at its peril, were drowned out by the sea of loyal stock-holding employees, who were there to listen to a pep talk, and a rousing duet by guest stars Jennifer Lopez and Jon Bon Jovi.
