Ex-La. Mayor Can't Shake Bribery Scheme Charges

Law360, New York (January 04, 2012, 6:40 PM ET) -- A federal judge on Wednesday declined to throw out a slew of racketeering, fraud and other charges against a former St. Gabriel, La., mayor accused of accepting bribes from business owners in exchange for city contracts.

U.S. District Judge Maurice Hicks denied three separate requests by George Grace to dismiss charges in Louisiana federal court that he used his position as mayor to influence real estate transactions and solicit bribes for business with St. Gabriel.
