Law360, New York (March 05, 2012, 9:40 PM ET) -- A Kentucky federal judge on Monday dismissed claims against some generic-drug manufacturers in the massive MDL over injuries tied to painkillers Darvocet, Darvon and their generic equivalents, saying the U.S. Supreme Court’s recent Mensing ruling shielded them from liability.
In a second ruling Monday, U.S. District Judge Danny C. Reeves also dismissed some claims against brand-name manufacturer Xanodyne Pharmaceuticals Inc., saying the plaintiffs never argued that Xanodyne had manufactured the drugs that sickened them.
