DOJ Probing Humana Medical Claims, Doctor Loans in Fla.

Law360, New York (May 01, 2012, 6:10 PM ET) -- Humana Inc. on Monday said the U.S. Department of Justice has opened an investigation into it and its affiliates’ loans to physician practices and their coding of medical claims by one or more South Florida medical providers.

The second-biggest private Medicare coverage provider said in a 10-Q filing that the civil division of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Florida notified Humana’s attorneys in January that it would request documents and information surrounding the claims and loans.
