Kashi Can't Call Cereal With GMOs All Natural, Suit Says

Law360, New York (May 03, 2012, 7:39 PM ET) -- A pair of disgruntled consumers lodged a putative class action against The Kellogg Co. subsidiary Kashi Co. in Florida federal court Wednesday accusing the company of misleading customers by touting a cereal product as being all natural even though it contains genetically modified organisms.

Pointing to soy variants allegedly known to come from GMOs listed among Kashi's Go Lean crunch cereal ingredients, plaintiffs Laura Gabbamonte and Katrina Garcia argue the food manufacturer is deceptively marketing its product by using the term “all natural” on its packaging...
