NC Gov. Seeks Recommendations For Fracking Rules

Law360, New York (May 22, 2012, 7:33 PM ET) -- North Carolina Gov. Beverly Perdue issued an executive order Monday establishing a work group to recommend regulations for hydraulic fracturing in the state, as the state legislature begins to debate a bill allowing the controversial practice.

The order, Executive Order No. 118, says hydraulic fracturing, or fracking, regulations developed by the work group will make the state more energy-independent, while still protecting the public, landowners, local governments and the environment.
