BP Spill Judge Won't Recuse Himself In Obstruction Case

Law360, New York (June 12, 2012, 12:41 PM ET) -- A Louisiana federal judge presiding over a criminal obstruction case against a former BP PLC engineer involved in the Deepwater Horizon oil spill said Monday that he wouldn't recuse himself after attorneys for both sides agreed he didn't have a conflict of interest.

In a three-sentence order, U.S. District Judge Stanwood Duval said he had been "informed by the clerk of the court that the parties have requested that this matter remain with the court."
