JPML Won't Merge 5 Louisiana-Pacific Siding Defect Suits

Law360, New York (June 12, 2012, 6:40 PM ET) -- The U.S. Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation on Monday declined to centralize in North Carolina five lawsuits against Louisiana-Pacific Corp. over alleged defects in the company’s TrimBoard exterior siding products, saying one of the cases is too far along.

Plaintiffs in a suit filed in the Eastern District of North Carolina had moved for the five suits to be centralized in that district, but it was filed more than three years ago, whereas the other four were filed this year.
