Law360, New York (June 14, 2012, 4:06 PM ET) -- Arkansas Best Corp. added to its transport empire with a $180 million deal to acquire Ohio-based specialist Panther Expedited Services Inc. from New York private equity owner Fenway Partners LLC, according to an announcement Thursday.
The transaction, which includes debt repayment, gives the Arkansas trucking company an asset-light platform Arkansas Best hopes will allow it to capture more of the $700 billion transportation and logistics market, the buyer said in a statement.
