Aetna Hit With Suit Over New Specialty Pharmacy Network

Law360, New York (August 09, 2012, 6:15 PM ET) -- Specialty pharmacy MedfusionRx LLC has sued Aetna Inc. for allegedly violating Mississippi's "any willing provider" law by canceling a provider agreement between the insurer and the pharmacy and shutting Medfusion out of its pharmacy network, in a case moved to Mississippi federal court Wednesday.

Medfusion says Aetna and its pharmacy benefits manager CVS Caremark Corp. shut the pharmacy out of the insurer's retail pharmacy network and tried to move it to a new network for specialty pharmacies.
