S.C. Brokers Forced To Change Membership Rules

Law360, New York (October 17, 2007, 12:00 AM ET) -- A joint venture of real estate brokers in Hilton Head, S.C., has agreed to change its membership rules so that low-priced and Internet-based brokers can better compete in the area.

Under a proposed settlement filed Tuesday with the U.S. District Court for the District of South Carolina, Multiple Listing Service of Hilton Head Island Inc. will rescind a number of rules allegedly designed to restrict competition.
