Ailing Vitamin Co. Seeks Refuge In Bankruptcy

Law360, New York (March 11, 2008, 12:00 AM ET) -- Major store-brand vitamin manufacturer Leiner Health Products Inc. filed for bankruptcy Monday, a year after federal regulators issued warnings over manufacturing infractions, which prompted the company to initiate a costly recall of some products.

The company sought Chapter 11 protection in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware, listing both assets and debt in the range of $500 million to $1 billion.
