Democrats Renew Push To Halt Oil-Reserve Deliveries

Law360, New York (April 25, 2008, 12:00 AM ET) -- Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi has become the latest Democrat to urge the Bush administration to temporarily suspend oil deliveries to the Strategic Petroleum Reserve.

At a press conference on Thursday, Pelosi said that suspending deliveries to the Strategic Petroleum Reserve would shave between 5 and 24 cents off the price of a gallon of gas and send a signal to the market to stop “runaway speculation.”
