FCC Asked To Delay AT&T, BellSouth Merger Decision

Law360, New York (November 09, 2006, 12:00 AM ET) -- The Democratic takeover of Congress could mean more delays for AT&T Inc.’s proposed acquisition of BellSouth Corp--the incoming chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Committee asked the Federal Communications Commission Wednesday to hold off deciding on the merger.

“I think it would be in their best interest, I think it would be in the interest of the committee, and I think it would be in the interest of the public” to wait until the new Congress convenes in January, John Dingell said.
