Alston, Latham Rep Carlyle In $4B CommScope Deal

Law360, New York (October 27, 2010, 12:19 PM ET) -- The Carlyle Group has inked a deal to acquire telecommunications equipment company CommScope Inc. in a deal valued at approximately $3.9 billion that will take the company private.

Under the terms of the deal announced Wednesday, Carlyle will buy all outstanding shares of CommScope common stock for $31.50 in cash, representing a premium of approximately 36 percent over the company's closing stock price on Friday, the last day before CommScope revealed that it was in talks with Carlyle on a potential tie-up.
