Apple Faces New China Trademark Suit After $60M Settlement

Law360, New York (July 03, 2012, 2:43 PM ET) -- Apple Inc. faces new trademark abuse allegations in China over its Snow Leopard operating system after recently agreeing to pay $60 million to settle a separate Chinese trademark dispute over the iPad, according to local reports Tuesday.

Jiangsu Xuebao Consumer Goods Co. has sued Apple in Shanghai court, alleging the Chinese translation of the Silicon Valley technology giant's Snow Leopard software platform infringes several of the Chinese company's trademarks for “Xuebao,” which means “snow leopard” in English, Chinese newspaper Shanghai Daily reported.
