Law360, New York (July 12, 2012, 3:11 PM ET) -- Apple Inc.'s failure to produce discovery materials requested by Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. in the companies' ongoing battle over alleged patent infringement by Samsung's tablet computers merits monetary sanctions but nothing more, a California magistrate judge ruled Wednesday.
U.S. Magistrate Judge Paul S. Grewal accepted Samsung's argument that Apple should have gone to greater lengths to timely produce depositions relevant to its patent fight against the iPad maker, but said that Samsung could not show that it had been significantly prejudiced by Apple's delay.
